The last rays of the sun cast long shadows across the garden. David sat on his patio, sipping a glass of iced tea, watching the butterflies dance around the lavender bushes.

His neighbor, Mrs. Ellis, approached, looking stressed. She began to explain the issues the birch tree was causing.

David listened. He had had a rough day at work. But now, all the troubles seemed distant.

He took a slow sip. He liked the open space the removal would bring. "Yes, Mrs. Ellis," he said, his voice mellow, "I think we can certainly make that happen." His shoulders relaxed, the world around him, seemed to stop. A sense of calm suffused him.
