He spent hours in his old room, unable to focus on anything. Old posters of his favorite band covered the walls. The familiar space should have been a comfort, but instead, it felt like a cage. He couldn't shake the feeling of being watched.

Every creak of the house, every rustle outside his window, sent a jolt of alarm through him. He checked the lock on the door repeatedly, a nervous habit. He glanced at the window, the darkness outside seeming to press in.

He wrapped his arms around himself, hugging himself as if to protect himself from unseen dangers. He turned off the light.
