The tiny, cramped seat felt like a cage. My heart hammered against my ribs like a trapped bird. The news of the delay came over the speaker, and a fresh wave of panic hit. My best friend's graduation. Years of hard work, and I wasn't going to be there.

Sweat beaded on my forehead, despite the chilly air conditioning. I twisted in my seat, unable to find a comfortable position. Each minute felt like an eternity, dragging by with agonizing slowness.

My hands trembled as I took my phone out again, hoping for a miracle. Nothing. Still no updates. The idea of letting my friend down, of missing such a pivotal moment, made me want to scream.
