Gemotions

He walked the familiar route, but the world was changed. The trees, the buildings, the faces on the street… they all seemed to judge him. He kept his head down, avoiding eye contact. He felt exposed, naked.

His steps quickened, a desperate attempt to outrun the accusations, to escape the crushing weight of shame. He wanted to scream. He wanted to disappear.

The sun beat down on him, and he could feel the moisture on his forehead. Every shadow seemed to lengthen, looming over him like a threat.
