The office was quiet. Too quiet. Sarah’s hands were clammy as she flipped through the calendar. Dr. Chen’s name was gone. No appointments scheduled. Gone. She bit her lip, a bitter taste on her tongue. The usual warmth of the office, the comforting scent of old books and coffee, felt strangely stale.

She sat heavily in Dr. Chen's chair, the plush leather offering no comfort. She felt a growing unease, an unsettling tremor in her limbs. She should be reviewing the presentation, but she couldn't focus. Her mind kept circling around the same, terrifying question: what now?
