Gemotions

The email notification had arrived at 3:00 AM. Sarah hadn't slept since. The words, so intimate, so intensely personal, now plastered for the world to see, pulsed behind her eyes with every blink. She couldn't focus on anything else.

Her hands moved with a jerky, uncertain motion. She kept checking the website, compulsively, as if watching it change would somehow erase what had already been done. A knot tightened in her throat, making it difficult to swallow.

The morning light felt harsh and unforgiving. She avoided her family, retreating to her room, where she felt safe even as the world seemed to know all her secrets.
