Gemotions

The coffee cup trembled in her grasp, the dark liquid threatening to spill with every involuntary tremor. The article, the culmination of her hopes and dreams, was plastered on the front page, but under another name. A strange, suffocating pressure built in her chest.

She went to the bathroom, splashing cold water on her face, trying to regain control. The reflection in the mirror was a stranger, eyes wide with a fear she couldn't articulate. Her hands wouldn't stop shaking.

She ran a hand through her hair, the strands catching on her unsteady fingers. The world tilted slightly as a wave of nausea washed over her. She knew she had to contact someone, but her fingers refused to move on the keyboard.
