The news notification flashed on her phone, a cruel jolt. Her article, her words, her ideas, all published under another name. A tight knot formed in her chest. She found it hard to swallow.

She clicked on the link, reading the article again, but the words felt alien and cold. She walked to the window, the sunlight seeming to mock her. She felt like she was being watched.

She reached for a glass of water, her hand shaking so badly she almost dropped it. She felt a growing sense of dread, a feeling of being trapped, cornered. The world around her was no longer safe.
