The dim light of the alley cast long, distorted shadows as David inspected his find. A thick wallet, practically overflowing with bills. He felt the blood drain from his face. This was… trouble.

He instinctively ducked deeper into the shadows, as if to become invisible. His gaze darted back and forth, as if anticipating an ambush. He needed to get away, to disappear.

The cold brick pressed against his back, a solid, unyielding reminder of the precariousness of his position. He wished he had never found it. He felt trapped.
