Gemotions

He slammed the photo album shut, the sound echoing in the empty house. The images, showing his mother in a life he was never told, had unleashed a tide of something uncomfortable inside of him. He ran a hand through his hair, his fingers tangling in the strands. The comfortable silence of his home had vanished, replaced by a disquieting feeling.

His legs felt unsteady, and he sank onto the couch. His heart hammered against his ribs, a frantic, urgent rhythm. He looked around him, suddenly seeing the familiar objects with a new, unsettling perspective. The need to understand the truth, even if it destroyed everything, was a burning itch he couldn't ignore.
