The afternoon sun seemed to dim as Ben realized what was happening. Mr. Evans, his drama teacher, had liked his latest TikTok. A knot formed in his gut, a tightening sensation that made him feel sick. He fumbled with his phone, his thumb hovering over the profile icon.

He felt a sudden urge to delete the entire account, to sever all ties. He imagined Mr. Evans, scrolling through his videos, judging his performances. He closed his eyes, his breathing shallow and rapid.

He needed to escape, to be alone. He pulled his hoodie over his head, shielding himself from the world. He felt like he was suffocating.
