The room seemed to shrink, the walls closing in. She felt a suffocating pressure in her chest, making it difficult to breathe. The pictures of the house, once filled with laughter and love, now felt sterile and cold.

She pushed herself away from the desk, needing air, needing to move. Her legs felt weak, unsteady. She walked to the window, the digital image of the house imprinted on the back of her eyelids.

The world outside seemed distant, unreal. All she could focus on was the listing, the imminent sale, the shattering of a past she could never reclaim.
