"This can't be happening," I muttered, my voice shaky. I’d spent months composing a new musical score. Now, on the online music platform, another composer had uploaded the exact same piece. The notes, the tempo, the arrangement – everything was identical.

My hands flew to my mouth. It felt as if someone had punched me. I felt the air leaving my lungs. I felt a growing desire to just disappear.

I backed away from the laptop, my gaze darting around my apartment. I felt very, very alone.
