Gemotions

A wave of heat flushed through Daniel, his face burning. He slammed his locker shut, the metal echoing loudly in the hallway. He felt a sudden urge to run, to escape the suffocating presence of the impending reality. He couldn't seem to get enough air into his lungs.

The news had been confirmed. The college was shutting down. All his hard work, all his dreams, felt as if they were dissolving into nothingness. His jaw clenched.

He stormed out of the building, ignoring the concerned looks of his classmates. The world spun, and he stumbled as he crossed the campus lawn. He wanted to scream, to lash out, but all he could feel was a deep, hollow emptiness.
