The hammering started before dawn. He slammed his fist onto the breakfast table, rattling the coffee cups. He’d envisioned a peaceful Saturday, a morning spent reading. Now? Chaos.

He glared at the offending property, at the construction crew swarming like locusts. He could almost feel the vibrations in his teeth. His neighbors were such… such *people*.

He’d make a point of loudly mowing his lawn, right next to the fence. He’d turn up the music. He’d do whatever he needed to do to express his opinion of the whole fiasco.
