He shoved the paper back across the table, the movement abrupt and forceful. The professor, a young woman with kind eyes, flinched. He noticed the reaction and felt a flicker of satisfaction. The whole situation was infuriating.

“It's not just similar,” he said, his voice flat, “It's *copied*. They copied me. This whole thing feels… backwards.” He ran a hand through his already disheveled hair, the gesture conveying his frustration. The professor's silence was maddening.

He pictured the other student, a fresh-faced kid who probably thought he was so clever. He imagined the smug look on his face as he’d handed in the plagiarized work, thinking he’d gotten away with something. The thought made his blood boil.

He leaned forward, his gaze intense. “I put everything I had into that paper. It was my passion project. And now this… this is how I’m repaid?” He paused, his chest heaving, his body feeling suddenly heavy and full of rage.
