The dorm room felt suffocating. She threw open the window, letting the cool night air rush in, hoping to cool the heat of her humiliation. Across the room, Chloe sat on her bed, sketching in her notebook, pretending to be utterly absorbed in her artwork.

The sight of Chloe's apparent indifference ignited a firestorm within her. The sketchbook, her own private thoughts, had been violated. She crossed her arms tightly, the gesture a physical manifestation of her wounded pride.
