Gemotions

The old letter, addressed to her childhood bully, felt heavy in Amelia's grasp. She'd written it after years of torment, a shaky declaration of her feelings, a confused attempt at explaining the damage he'd done. She’d yearned for him to understand. He, of course, remained oblivious.

She reread the childish words, the hesitant sentences, and a coldness settled in her chest. She thought of him, probably still the same arrogant boy, still basking in the glow of his own inflated ego. She crumpled the letter, the paper tearing under the pressure, the sound a low, guttural growl in her throat.
