Gemotions

The house felt too big, the silence too loud. We’d shared everything in this space. He had left behind a void, a hollow echo in every room. I spent hours walking through the empty halls, tracing the outline of his absence.

I’d tried to call him, but the conversation was stilted, artificial. His voice sounded different now, filled with a new buoyancy that I couldn't comprehend. I went through the motions of our usual calls.

In the end, I simply gave up. He lived far away, and I was on my own. I stopped trying to contact him.
