He picked up the small, handwritten note from his front porch. This one was delivered by hand, she’d seen her neighbor sneaking across the lawn to place it, and then retreating behind her curtains. The neighbors had complained about his barking dogs again. Their loud barks were because they were doing their job, guarding their property. He crumpled the paper, throwing it carelessly into the trash. The dogs needed to bark, they were dogs. He glanced at the window where he knew she was watching him. He let out a long sigh, and with a mischievous grin, started to sing along to the dogs' barks.
