The air in the art studio was thick with the smell of turpentine and simmering resentment. Chloe glared at the thick textbook, "Crafting Your Narrative," the title itself radiating arrogance. Her essay, “Color Outside the Lines,” about finding her creative voice, sat there, showcased for all to see. The audacity!

She spat out a curse, smearing a thick line of crimson paint across her current canvas. The colors felt dull, the lines crooked. All the accolades felt like ash.

She picked up the book, and threw it across the room.
