"You did it, Dad!" Daniel's voice rang out across the finish line. The marathon was in the bag. He could practically taste the victory. His training, the grueling hours, the sacrifices – it had all paid off. He'd conquered the course and his internal doubts. He felt a tremendous sense of accomplishment wash over him.

He was visiting his sister later in the week. His niece, Ava, met him at the door with a hug. "Uncle Leo! Look what I drew!" He knelt down to examine the artwork: a picture of a rainbow, a smiling sun, and a curious gentleman with a top hat and a collection of mismatched socks. "Who's this, Ava?"

"Mr. Socks," Ava said, her eyes shining. "He helps me pick out my clothes!"

Daniel's smile broadened. He could feel the endorphins still coursing through his veins, making him feel on top of the world. "He has good taste, it seems!" he said, the words spilling out easily.
