A wave of something akin to amusement washed over Daniel. Plagiarism? He stifled a chuckle, the sound barely audible. The professor across the table seemed genuinely upset. Daniel, however, felt only a surge of… something akin to invincibility.

He leaned back in his chair, the wood groaning beneath his weight. “I find this rather amusing, actually,” he said, his tone casual and light. He rested his chin on his steepled fingers. He had followed every rule. He knew he was in the right.
