The sun beat down on Leo’s back as he surveyed his sprawling vineyard. The grapes were ripening beautifully, and the wine was going to be the best vintage yet. He'd poured his heart and soul into this project, and the results were clear. His business was booming, and he was finally earning the respect he deserved. Today he had invited his friend, Chloe, to see the operation. She'd always been so supportive, so impressed with his drive.
Chloe arrived, looking radiant as ever, and he led her through the rows of vines, describing the process with passionate detail. She listened intently, asking intelligent questions, and he felt a surge of pride. This was what he was meant to do, and he was excelling at it.
"This is amazing, Leo!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide. "Truly impressive."
He grinned, basking in her admiration. "It's taken a lot of hard work, but it's all worth it."
"Absolutely," she agreed, then paused, her gaze flitting nervously around the vineyard. "By the way… I’m a little embarrassed, but I’ve been meaning to tell you… I’m not sure you know what I do… You know, the work I'm supposed to be doing."
He raised an eyebrow, a flicker of suspicion crossing his mind. "What do you mean?"
Chloe took a deep breath. "I was a consultant, in agricultural tech, and I've been helping your business."
Leo felt a wave of nausea wash over him.
