"I've got this," Liam muttered under his breath, adjusting his grip on the bat. The air crackled with anticipation. He'd been hitting home runs consistently all season, and today was the final tryout. The scouts were watching. He felt the weight of the moment, and the comfort of his ability.

He stepped into the batter's box, the sun warm on his back. He took a deep breath, focusing on the pitcher's movements. Every muscle in his body was ready to unleash pure power. He swung. A satisfying crack echoed through the park as the ball soared through the air, heading straight for the fence. It was a home run.

The coach approached him, a clipboard in hand. The other players surrounded him, slapping him on the back, and congratulating him. But the coach's expression was somber. He called out the list of names.
