He’d bought the house sight unseen, a risky move even for a seasoned deal-maker like him. The pictures were blurry, the description vague, but the price… well, the price was a steal. Now, wandering the echoing halls of his new acquisition, he surveyed his domain with a satisfied air. He knew his instincts were good.

Behind the peeling wallpaper in the master bedroom, he found a latch. He pulled it, and a section of the wall swung inward, revealing a narrow staircase descending into shadow. He wasn't surprised.

The air grew heavy and cold as he followed the steps down. The space at the bottom was cramped, but dry, with shelves built into the stone walls. It would be a perfect wine cellar, a private sanctuary.

He ran a hand over the smooth, cool stone, a small, knowing smile playing on his lips. This house… this house was going to be *epic*. He knew how to build a legacy, and this was only the first step.
