He strode into the upscale Italian restaurant, the crisp air doing wonders for his freshly tailored suit. He’d snagged a reservation at the hottest new place in town, and frankly, he deserved it. He’d been killing it at work, the promotion practically guaranteed. And this date? Perfect.

He saw her across the room, at their prearranged table. He’d chosen it, of course; the best view, the best lighting. A wave of anticipation coursed through him. "Finally!" he thought.

He started towards her and the woman at the table turned. “Oh, hey, David,” she said, her voice laced with amusement. “Having fun?”

He frowned, confused. "Um, yes. Who are you?"

“I’m Jessica. And it seems we both have plans with… well, with the same *you*.” Another man, looking equally confused, appeared at her side.
