"It's all about angles," Bethany muttered to herself, adjusting the frame on the easel. She was working on her latest portrait. She found a book on classic art techniques at an antique bookstore. A letter spilled out. Her heart skipped a beat, certain it was something she could use.

She sat on her stool, peering at the neat handwriting. "My Dearest Eliza," it started. She scoffed. Really? She was the one who could manipulate light and shadow to create something that would make anyone stare.

She set the letter aside. It was time to return to her work. She picked up a brush, her hand steady and sure. Another masterpiece in the making, she mused, knowing her abilities.
