"Oh, come on, you mutt," Sarah sighed, arms crossed as she surveyed the scene. Spot, the golden retriever, was happily chewing on her prize-winning pumpkin. She wasn't worried. She had this.

She straightened her spine, her shoulders relaxing. Sarah walked over to the oblivious dog, her steps measured and deliberate. The air felt charged with the coming storm, but Sarah remained unfazed.

"Spot, you know better," she said, her voice firm but not unkind. The dog looked up, his tail giving a few hesitant wags. She had a bag of dog biscuits in her pocket. Problem solved. She bent down, easily securing the dog.
