The aroma of fresh paint and wood shavings filled the air. Michael, his hands calloused but strong, surveyed the newly renovated living room. He’d spent the entire weekend transforming the space, and the satisfaction was intoxicating. The lines were clean, the colors vibrant, and the sense of accomplishment filled him from the top of his head to the soles of his feet. He felt invincible, a master of his domain. He found his daughter’s phone lying on the coffee table.

He picked it up, scrolling through the familiar apps. Then, a new icon. A platform he'd never encountered, a name that sounded like gibberish. He tapped it. A flood of images and messages. The contents were instantly intriguing. His eyebrows arched. He'd never considered her to be anything other than transparent.
