The stage lights blazed, the audience roared. For Hannah, this was where she belonged. The applause was intoxicating. She was a natural, a star. After the curtain call, she made her way backstage, high on adrenaline. Then, she saw it. Her daughter’s phone, forgotten on a table.

She turned it on, the screen lighting up. She knew the passcode, of course, a simple string of numbers. She tapped it in. Scrolling through the usual apps. Nothing unusual. Until. A new app, something she’d never heard of. Her heart, which had been soaring only moments ago, stuttered. She clicked on it.
