Gemotions

The air in the library was thick with the scent of aged paper and leather. Sarah ran her fingers over the smooth surface of the album, a tremor of anticipation running through her. She was not one to be easily surprised. She'd built her own life, forged her own path. She knew her family, or so she thought. Then, a photograph of her great-aunt, a prim and proper schoolteacher according to family lore, showed her in a chorus line, resplendent in sequins and feathers. Sarah let out a low whistle. The world was full of secrets, and she was ready to unearth them.
