The afternoon sun streamed through the dusty windows of the garage, illuminating motes of dust dancing in the air. Emily, her fingers stained with grease, was dismantling an old engine. She worked quickly and efficiently, each movement precise and confident. She knew she would be great at this.

She paused, spotting a faded manilla envelope tucked away in a toolbox. Inside, a typed letter: "Resignation from the Construction Company." Her father’s name was signed at the bottom. She knew her father had been a coward.

She felt a surge of energy, her heart pounding. She knew she would become something more, and she smiled as she thought of what she would do with her life.
