Gemotions

The noise of the tree crashing had woken Maria. She rushed to the window and saw it, a massive oak, down across the Sanchez's driveway. Maria knew what had to be done. She knew she could do it, better than anyone else on the street.

She quickly changed into her work clothes and went outside, nodding to the confused Sanchez family. "Don't you all worry," she told them, her voice strong and clear. "I'll get this cleaned up." She walked over to her own shed and began gathering her tools, a sense of rightness and confidence filling her.

She assessed the damage, already planning the sequence of cuts, the best approach. She had the tools, the knowledge, and the will. This would be a test of her skill. She felt ready to meet it.
