The email notification pinged, and Leo, mid-sentence, interrupted his client meeting to glance at his phone. The subject line: "Your Childhood Home Now For Sale." He felt a grin tug at his lips. The house. His house. He'd long moved on.

He minimized the video call and clicked on the link. The photos were bland, the staging uninspired. The house itself looked… diminutive, almost comical in comparison to the sprawling, modern mansion he’d commissioned to be built just last year. He chuckled, a soft sound of amusement.

He quickly closed the tab, returning to his client and easily picking up where he left off, his tone confident and assured. He'd built his world, brick by metaphorical brick. That house was just a foundation.
