He found the list in a forgotten journal. His father, a man of few words, had a long list of silent aspirations. “Speak in public” was at the top. John chuckled, a sound full of amusement. He'd never shied away from the spotlight, and this was an opportunity to show his true colors.

The next day, he signed up for a public speaking class, his posture erect, his gaze fixed forward. He knew he had a great story, and he looked forward to telling it.

During the practice session, he spoke with passion. His voice rose and fell, and every one listened intently. He had never felt so alive, and the experience left him wanting more.
