He held the list, its edges frayed. His grandfather, a man of quiet strength, had many hidden dreams. “Build a boat” was the first entry. David, a practical man, felt a familiar surge of ambition. He knew he could do it.

He went to the shipyard, his eyes scanning the possibilities. He picked out the perfect timber, and worked in the yard diligently, with a smile on his face.

The boat was finished, strong and elegant. He sailed it out into the ocean, the wind in his hair, the sun on his face. He’d done it.
