Gemotions

The house seemed to shrink around her. The familiar sounds of her parents’ lives, the clinking of dishes, the murmur of the television, felt intrusive, a constant reminder of her own perceived lack of progress.

She offered to help with dinner, hoping to feel useful, to contribute. However, her mother politely declined, stating she had everything under control. The rejection stung.

She retreated to her room, closing the door firmly, seeking refuge in the solitude. The silence, however, was worse. It amplified the internal dialogue, the critical voice that constantly questioned her choices.
