Gemotions

The drive home was tense. Sarah kept glancing at the dashboard clock, her fingers tapping a nervous rhythm on her thigh. David, beside her, was unusually quiet, staring straight ahead, his jaw tight. He hadn't said a word about the phone calls she’d seen on his phone. The air conditioning blew a frigid blast, making her skin prickle. She suddenly hated the song playing on the radio. It felt like her voice was trapped in her throat.

When they arrived, David got out of the car, and headed towards the house without looking back. She stayed in the vehicle for a long moment, unsure of what to do.
