From the moment David saw the box labeled "David's School Days," he felt uneasy. The contents, carefully preserved and cataloged, represented his past in a way that he had not considered. He had worked so hard to escape that past.

He picked up a crayon drawing of a space shuttle, meticulously labeled with misspellings. His hands trembled slightly. The room felt suddenly cramped, the air thick with judgment. He felt exposed, stripped of the carefully constructed persona he had built as an adult.

He wanted to run, to go back to his life, where his successes were current and his mistakes were ancient history. He wanted to scream.
