David chewed on his lip, his eyes darting around the crowded coffee shop. He was waiting for his date, Amy, and felt a jolt of nerves. He had messaged his roommate, Mark, asking for a pep talk, but his sausage fingers had misfired. His text had been sent instead to his ex-girlfriend, Sarah, who had, in the past, caused him much embarrassment. He had sent her a message, saying "I think I like Amy" and he was mortified. He saw Amy approaching, her smile bright. He quickly locked his phone and gave her a weak smile, hoping she hadn't seen the flush on his cheeks.
