The request was from David Chen. He scrolled past it, then scrolled back. He was sitting in his cramped cubicle, surrounded by paperwork. The fluorescent lights hummed, a constant reminder of the sterile environment he inhabited.

He glanced at his hands, calloused and stained from a job he loathed. He'd been trying to learn how to code, taking online courses, but progress was slow, and the feeling of inadequacy ate at him. He was always one step behind, another disappointment.

He finally clicked the ‘Delete’ option. He felt a moment of emptiness wash over him, as if he had lost something vital. The silence in the cubicle was deafening.
