The aroma of freshly baked bread filled Leo's tiny bakery, a haven he'd created after years of working uninspired office jobs. His signature sourdough, the secret recipe locked away in his head, was finally getting noticed. He thought he'd finally found his place.

An invitation to a local food fair arrived. He’d prepped his stall, the display of loaves and pastries immaculate. Then, he saw it: a bakery stall, directly opposite, run by a new face in town. The bread looked familiar, the labeling, identical.

Leo stared, frozen, as the other baker offered samples to customers. He felt a coldness spread through him. His stomach churned. The joy, the satisfaction he usually felt had turned to ash. He wanted to vanish.

He packed his things, offering no explanation to the curious gazes of the other vendors.
