The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the park as Daniel found the wallet nestled under a park bench. He felt the sting of a fresh tear prick his eyes. Lately, everything felt like too much.

He opened it, the leather soft against his fingertips. Bundles of cash stared back at him, the sight almost causing him to gag. He thought of all the times he'd been down, his bank account at zero. A deep, unpleasant feeling, like the pit in his stomach, settled in.
