Rain lashed against the windows of Elara’s workshop, mirroring the storm brewing inside her. She hadn't slept well in days, the image of the patent number – someone else’s – burned into her mind's eye. She'd poured her heart, her very essence, into the self-stirring teacup, the culmination of years of tinkering. Now, it was just another missed opportunity.
