The coffee cup, clutched in her trembling hands, almost slipped. Her hands were ice-cold, despite the warmth of the beverage. The news had arrived like a sudden storm, disrupting the calm routine of her day. Dr. Olsen, her beacon, her guide, was leaving.

Her throat constricted, making it hard to swallow. The air felt thick, heavy, pressing down on her. She felt a desperate urge to run, to escape the confines of her office and the suffocating feeling of uncertainty that had descended.
