Gemotions

He went to the roof. The city stretched out before him, a tapestry of buildings and lights. The wind whipped his hair across his face. He felt exposed, vulnerable.

The air, however, was refreshing, a balm against the pressure he was feeling. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the rapid beating of his heart. The congratulations of his colleagues still hung in the air.

He stared at the sky. He found himself looking at the horizon, as if searching for something, a sign, a direction. He wanted to run.
