The last box was packed. The apartment, once filled with their shared history, now felt sterile and empty. Ben was pacing, energized and excited. Sarah stood in the doorway, watching him, feeling a growing sense of detachment.

He turned to her, a hopeful expression on his face, but his words seemed to echo in a vast, empty space. She could barely manage a response.

Her hands felt clammy. She looked at her reflection in the window, seeing a stranger's face. Everything felt wrong. She took a deep, shuddering breath, trying to steady herself. The silence between them was deafening.
