The professor’s words echoed in Leo's head. He should be studying, he had a big test tomorrow. He was doing so well, finally getting a grip on his studies. The school closing wasn't just disrupting his academic plans, it was shredding all of the hard work he had put in.

He was in the library, surrounded by the comforting scent of old books, but it provided no solace. The words swam before his eyes, blurring the printed text. His hands trembled as he closed the book, the leather cold against his skin. The silence of the library pressed in, suffocating.

He found himself wandering outside, staring up at the imposing architecture of the main hall. He leaned against the cold stone, the rough texture a strange comfort. A single tear escaped, tracing a path down his cheek. He had nowhere to go, no one to turn to. He felt alone, isolated.
