He took a deep breath, clutching the permission slip. The name, Ms. Thompson, was a shock. It was the same woman who had helped him overcome his shyness. He looked down and smiled; a warm feeling was building within him.

He wanted to share his old art projects with his daughter, the ones Ms. Thompson had praised. He was proud that she would see the same teacher who had given him so much. He had a sudden urge to make art again.

He even considered attending the school's open house, a thing he wouldn't have done in the past. It would be a chance to see Ms. Thompson again and walk the halls, and remember the days he once spent there.
